Barrow & Cook is a long established firm of solicitors who have been in business for over 200 years. They were the first law firm in St Helens town centre when James Pickering and John Barnes opened an office on Liverpool Road in 1815 trading as ‘Pickering & Barnes’. Barrow & Cook also have an Estate Agency division and we can offer the complete ‘one stop shop’ when it comes to selling your house. Barrow & Cook had previously used an IT supplier located in the London area, however were extremely dissatisfied with the support they were receiving.

Due to geographical challenges Barrow & Cook found it increasingly difficult getting engineers to visit their site, which in turn resulted in long delays in solving their IT problems. Barrow & Cook found the supplier unapproachable, and were often frustrated with the lack of communication and support. The supplier demonstrated no attempt of providing a proactive service and was unable to provide a main point of contact. Barrow & Cook needed a supplier with a much more structured, commercial and flexible mindset and approach, this is where WN1 came in.

The Challenge

The key challenge Barrow & Cook were experiencing was continuous internet connection failure for a period of over 6 weeks which for any business would be extremely disruptive and frustrating. The challenge was to diagnose and absorb all the issues encountered by Barrow & Cook and then to formulate a plan of action to ensure all ongoing issues where promptly dealt with whilst constructing a robust solution to move forward with.

A key challenge was taking over from an existing provider who wasn’t willing to share information or to pass over any support history for previous encountered issues. This relied heavily on the WN1 team working closely with the Barrow & Cook team to ensure all issues where captured, diagnosed and a solution for each implemented.
